Antenatal Care
Booking-in and follow-up Appointments with the Community Midwives are held on Wednesdays 10am to 4 pm (Ormerod House Site), by Appointment Only
Asthma
There is currently no special clinic for asthma reviews. These reviews can be performed our Practice Nurse during a routine appointment.
Cervical smears
Smears are done by our practice nurses and take about 20 minutes in total. To make an appointment please ring 01942 483930.
COPD reviews
Annual Review of all established COPD Patients and Spirometry (Lung Function Tests).
Spirometry is performed by appointment with a Practice Nurse.
There is no special clinic for routine COPD reviews, these can be Performed our Practice Nurse during a routine appointment.
Community Link worker
What does a Community Link Worker do?
- Works with patients to identify social factors that may be affecting their health and wellbeing.
- Uses a holistic and asset based approach to empower patients to make positive changes and reduce health inequalities.
- Addresses barriers to engagement to enable people to play an active part in their care.
- Utilises and builds on the local community assets.
- Aims to increase patients control over their own health and lives.

Counselling
Self-referral forms are available from the GP, Practice Nurse or at reception. If there are any serious or ongoing mental health concerns please see a GP to discuss these further.
Diabetic clinic
Follow-up clinic for new or established diabetic patients – by appointment only, so please book in to see the Practice Nurse.
*For the diabetic review you will require a blood test beforehand. Unfortunately we don’t do blood tests in-practice. Bloods can be taken at Leigh Walk-In Centre and Bag Lane Clinic. A Blood Form and appointment booking details can be collected from reception.
Blood results can take around 1 week to get back to us, so please allow one week after your blood test before booking your review with the Nurse.
Ear syringing
Patients can self refer for ear syringing by telephoning 01942 483483.
Family planning
Full services including pill checks, depot-contraception and coil fittings available.
See any GP to discuss/commence contraception. See our Practice Nurses for routine pill and coil checks, and for all follow-up depo-injections.
Flu vaccinations
Clinics are held annually in early autumn for all eligible patients. Please ask at reception about what dates are scheduled for the immunisation and book early where possible
Health promotion
Discuss any concerns with a GP or Practice Nurse during a routine appointment
Immunisations
- Routine / Travel Vaccinations by appointment only with a Practice Nurse
- Childhood Vaccinations by appointment with a Practice Nurse
Ischaemic heart disease clinic
Annual review of patients with an established history of heart disease or heart attack with the Practice Nurses
Minor operations
Joint Injections can be performed in Surgery by Dr Chan.
Mother and baby clinic
You can arrange an appointment to see the nurse for any issues. For 6 week check-ups, an appointment must be arranged with Dr Chan or Dr Ganguly

Routine and travel vaccinations for all ages are available during surgery times by appointment with our nurses.
We run a flu jab clinic in late October. Ask at reception for further information.
